National Broadband Network – Changes Ahead

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

We know that some of you just simply love your trusty Facsimile Machine – The Old FAX, but with the National Broadband Network coming the FAX is about to face some changes.

That love of your old mate FAX might be fine and FAX might have no issues with the NBN.  Then again it is not certain that all of FAX’s mates will be able to join the NBN.

FAX might have some issues with the changes, but then again if FAX is one of the younger members of the FAX Clan, FAX might be able to roll with the punches and serve you with trusty communications for many years to come yet.

Although many of our clients use Emails regularly, some of our wonderful clients are not able to for a variety of reasons – no computer, don’t know how to, or simply cannot get a good enough internet connection – if at all.  So some of these clients still use the trusty old FAX.

In South West Victoria, Hamilton is one of those locations in the process of joining the NBN.  So in preparation we have upgraded our telephone system and shortly will be starting to transfer our lines across to the NBN.

Our technicians have advised us that FAX machines – due to being considered an older technology don’t always cope.  They might be fine, or they may send fine but not be able to receive; receive fine but not be able to send.  The uncertainties exist.

If you have a trusty old FAX that can send via email (some can), then it has been suggested that you might like to try setting up your FAX to send via email.

Otherwise, if you send us a fax without having spoken to or emailed us first, it might be worth letting us know via one of these methods, that way we can let you know if we have received your message.

We are attempting to have our telecommunication lines changed gradually in case of possible problems and our Fax line will be one of the first to be transferred.
